North Show Heritage blog wrote a post about my Great Uncle William Moore and his documenting of early Vancouver history. They used one of my prints that I based on his photograph of Lonsdale Avenue from aboard the Lonsdale Ferry in 1917. While I was attending Capilano College Fine Arts program, I lived with my Grandmother. I found his photographs in an old chest in her basement. I loved the long panoramic photos. I was able to see his panoramic camera and many more of his photos at an exhibition at the Museum of Vancouver. Many decades later, I found myself doing my own panoramic prints and remembered my early exposure to his beautiful photos. This led me on to explore those ‘footprints’ we leave behind, and how others will unknowingly travel the same paths.
